I like to muse on these ideas.....then I attempt to embody them within my body during relaxation or mediation
1. Core Idea
Masculine and feminine energies are not about gender — they are the two universal forces that exist within everyone.
• Masculine (Shiva): consciousness, stillness, direction, awareness.
• Feminine (Shakti): creation, movement, emotion, expression.
Together they form the balance of life itself
energy and awareness, motion and silence.
⸻
2. Energy Channels (Nadis)
There are three main energy pathways in the subtle body:
• Ida Nadi (Feminine)
Begins at the base of the spine.
Runs up the left side of the body to the left nostril.
Cooling, intuitive, emotional, lunar, inward.
• Pingala Nadi (Masculine)
Begins at the base of the spine.
Runs up the right side of the body to the right nostril.
Warming, logical, active, solar, outward.
• Sushumna Nadi (Central Channel)
Runs straight up the center of the spine.
Represents integration, balance, spiritual awakening.
The Ida and Pingala intertwine around the spine, crossing at each chakra.
⸻
3. Where They Cross (The Chakras)
1. Root (Muladhara) – grounding, safety, survival.
2. Sacral (Svadhisthana) – sexuality, creativity, flow.
3. Solar Plexus (Manipura) – power, will, direction.
4. Heart (Anahata) – love, compassion, integration.
5. Throat (Vishuddha) – truth, expression.
6. Third Eye (Ajna) – intuition, perception.
7. Crown (Sahasrara) – unity, divine consciousness.
At each chakra, masculine and feminine energies meet and spiral
⸻
4. Where They Come From
• Masculine (Pingala): born of the solar principle
sun, heat, light, right side of body, left brain (logic)
provided from above / provides Guidance, Protection and Faith
• Feminine (Ida): born of the lunar principle
moon, coolness, dark, left side of body, right brain (intuition)
provided from below / she holds and provides Safety, Stability and Grounding
When balanced you act from intuition and feel with awareness
